Good coverage of development in a multi-tiered architecture

I bought the book to learn about MongoDB and Angular, but the book covered all of the components of a traditional 3 tier architecture and how all of these pieces fit together. Eric has done a fantastic job explaining how MongoDB, Angular, Express and Node.js come together to create a "full-stack" application.

I also like the larger print; I'm a little older and the small print of some technical books gives me a headache. That and the abundant graphics sprinkled throughout the text made it a lot easier for me to understand. I also appreciated the abundant code snippets accompanying the text to explain how each idea works.

My one complaint about the text is that the index is not as good as it could have been; but for a step-by-step tutorial book, that's not hard to understand. I highly recommend this book.

It was a very informative book. However, the author did not review or included the old 1/32 scale Revell kit of the Messerschmitt bf-109f. I was hoping that he would had something to say about the kit or make any suggestions about improving the kit.

Power of Prayer for teenagers

Each day has a scripture verse and devotion with usually a quote or another thought to think about at the bottom. This is a sturdy, hardcover book with ridged ribbon bookmark. Also, at the end of each month there's space to record thoughts or some specific things God taught you that month.
This are GREAT, short but meaningful devotions that will get you started thinking and meditating on God and His word for the day, or to pray more throughout your time as well.
The book is also very colorful; this is all around a great devotional.

Excellent resource for beginning scientists

My 9 year old God daughter adores this book. She's very interested in climate science and this was perfect. She had no trouble with the material and got a kick out of the videos you can get with the downloadable content.

Great book, but consider getting the CD instead

This Bentley repair manual is actually very, very good. It's a massive book with loads of useful information about the Jetta. It is so much better than what I had (which was the web). It is better than the typical Chilton or Hayes manuals, which I've owned a dozen of over the years.

I'm fairly mechanically inclined. I change the fluids and do all the routine maintenance myself. I had even changed the timing belt twice before getting the manual. When I go looking to a manual, I'm looking for details that can't be readily observed by a somewhat competent shade tree mechanic/driving enthusiast.

When I bought the manual, I was repairing a couple electrical issues on my TDI Jetta (bad fan control module and failed fan) and despite having a decent electrical diagram, it did not have enough information to actually diagnose the exact problem. I got further information from the Bentley support forums (yeah, the guys that write the book support the purchasers of it!) and learned that the electronic version has the additional information I was needing. Specifically, pinouts of components along with methods for testing individual components (such as, apply 12v here, jumper pins 2 and 3, and X should happen. If not, Y is defective). This book has some of that, but not enough.

Having that information is the difference between knowing for certain if buying a particular non-returnable electrical component will actually fix the problem.

Service Manual for Volkswagens

I can honestly say that this is the manual I recommended to all of my Volkswagen owning friends. All of them. Surprisingly all of them bought it. Not only does this manual help me fix problems that are serious to moderate to just plain weird it helps me learn alot about my car as well. It helped me learn the things I need to get my car "Bella" the Volkswagen in a better shape. I recently had to change my water pump and I was going to take it to the mechanic which cost me alot of money, and instead of taking it to the mechanic I used the simple knowlege and the manual and I changed my water pump. Yes it has that too.
By learning and reading the manual everytime I need to use it I am able to fix other cars as well that are Volkswagens. This knowledge that I gain from this great manual will stick with me forever. I am very satisfied with it. I am very thankful that I bought it and alot of my other friends that own the manual are thankful as well. It trully is worth every penny that you spend when you buy this awesome manual.

Bentley's Mini Cooper Service Manual

After 20 years of using Bentley manuals I expected a better product. The manual is ok as a basic repair manual, but lacks the in depth details that one would expect from advanced manuals. One thing this manual does that really drives me nuts is how it constantly refers you to other sections of the manual in order to complete one single task. That may be ok if you're sitting down in your living room reading over a repair, but when you're in the garage and you're hands are covered in grease skipping around a service book it's a pain. It comes across as the publisher is too cheap to reprint the information. Aren't repair manuals supposed to simplify the repair process? I do have to say that the electrical portion of the manual is up to the standards that I would expect from Bentley. Fortunately, as weak as this manual is, it is still better than any other Mini Cooper manual I have seen.

Invaluable Resource

This is a wonderful reference book highlighting important holidays from all over the world. I had a copy years ago when I lived overseas and thought it lost until it turned up in an old box in my garage... after almost ten years of looking for it!. Seriously, I can't praise this book enough. It also has wonderful information regarding the lunar calender and how most if not all major religions use this alternate cycle of measuring time.

About the Author

Elaine Leeder is Professor of Sociology and Dean of the School of Social Sciences at Sonoma State University. She holds an MSW from the Wurzweiler School of Social Work of Yeshiva University, a Masters of Public Health from the University of California at Berkeley, and a Ph.D. in Sociology from Cornell University. From 1977 to 2001, she taught in the sociology department at Ithaca College and coordinated the social work minor. She teaches courses on social change, family violence and the treatment and prevention of family violence and social policy. She has written books and articles on radical women's history, treatment of child abuse perpetrators, domestic violence, and spirituality.

This is an awesome book for Sociology 105!

I am taking Sociology 105 in college, and I had to buy this book for that class. I like this book pretty much. It is pretty easy to understand the concepts the book adresses (not because of the simplicity of its language use, but because of its great ways of explanations). I also like many of the good ideas in there. When one reads this book, however, he/she needs to learn to look at it in an objective way (basing your judgments on facts rather than opinion) and look at the facts described in this book as thing that are really out there (even though you may not like them). That's just how the world is! And after reading this book, you can reason with yourself if your way thinking is still a good one... (?)
